About us
Our cooperative society is an artisan reality located in Abruzzo, in the Trabocchi Coast area. It consists of over 300 hectares of vineyards and around 150 winegrowers participate. The grapes we work are mainly made up of red Montepulciano d’Abruzzo; among our white wines are Pecorino, Trebbiano d’Abruzzo, Cococciola, Chardonnay, Moscato e Passerina.
STORY
The winery was born in Rocca San Giovanni, in the heart of the Trabocchi Coast, with the first harvest in 1971, thanks to the initiative of numerous winemakers in the area. The name “San Giacomo” derives from the country church located a few steps from our cellar and is dedicated to the saint. Since the foundation we have decisively researched the quality of our wine, so much so that the bottles of Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo of that year are still kept in our underground rooms.
OUR STORE
The headquarters of the winery have a welcoming store where it is possible to taste and buy our wines. We are available to visitors to provide information on the production, vinification and aging systems of individual wines and to suggest the most appropriate food and wine pairing. You can also buy our products online.
Casino Murri Story
Our vineyards host of one of the most valuable examples of Abruzzo rural construction: the Casino Murri is a small and elegant farmhouse built between the second half of the eighteenth century and the beginning of the nineteenth century. This historical place is urrounded by olive groves and vineyards of our district, just few steps from the Trabocchi Coast. Two of our wine lines take their name from this building.

For years Cantina San Giacomo has obtained the certification to produce organic wine, encouraging its cultivation. Likewise, it is committed to offer to all enthusiasts a line of natural wines, available in small quantities. Following this same ecological vocation, it has introduced a photovoltaic system for the production of clean energy for the winery.
Artisan quality
We pursue the goal of obtaining better and better products, optimizing production technologies and respecting tradition. We choose never to exceed in the use of wood and not to use extreme technologies, entrusting the quality of our wines only to the grapes and their processing.

Fixed point in our work is the goal of offering wines from our Abruzzo in their most typical and high interpretation.
