On the occasion of the fortieth anniversary of the first harvest, in 1971, Cantina S.Giacomo wanted to make available to its members and friends this wine, fruit of the historical harvest.
It is a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Cerasuolo worked in the location of C.da Novella , at that time not yet completed, bottled and placed to rest in a dark recess of the cellar.
The approximately 400 bottles, firstly intended to be only a relic, after about twenty years have been topped up with a similar product, re-plugged with new corks and let rest until today.
In occasion of a tasting carried on its fortieth summer and repeated in September, the wine was still surprisingly healthy and stable.
At such a great time-distance we can not expect a technically perfect quality (moreover, by a rosé wine), but the survival of this product testifies the exceptional qualities of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and our territory.
You can therefore keep this bottle for another forty years, as a piece of history, or uncork it, and taste the contents, with the proper respect due to its age.
